New Hams
It's been a few weeks and I haven't done very much with radio, so I've had nothing to post. Last week though we had two new Hams, David Levine, KC3EZH , and Larisa Millman, KC3EZG. Also, I plan to go for my general class licence this weekend at the laurel ARC.

I finally got around to making the mounting brackets for attaching the elements to the base. I'm quite pleased with how well it printed, considering that our printer is very inaccurate. I will hopefully post the skp file up shortly. The bracket is designed for a 3/4 inch square beam and made to hold a 8 mm piece of round stock. You would attach the element to it using a pop rivet or elastic band. the problems with it right now are that it is uninsulated, so i will have to put some sort of foam or rubber in between the rivets and the element, and that I'm not sure about the strength of the pla.

This week i will be working on finishing the about me page and hopefully i will be able to work on making the next version of my yagi. i want to come up with a more elegant solution for mounting the elements, possibly using a 3d printer, and working on setting up a better connection with the elements.

This is a 70 cm yagi antenna that I built. The design is by DK7ZB and the construction is based off of MØUKD's 2 meter yagi. So far the testing has been good and we contacted the W4BRM repeater in Haymarket VA ,about 30 miles from my school in Rockville MD. I would like to make a couple more 70 cm yagis based of this 4 element design.
